Patient Room at St. Olav, NTNU.
A small patient room of 6 square meters with good ceiling height. The goal was to create a multifunctional space:
-
A patient room for those suffering from cluster headaches and migraine attacks.
-
A "wow-factor" showroom for visiting researchers.
-
A workspace for healthcare providers.
Colors, properlighting, and art played a significant role in forming such a room.

HIGHLIGHTS.
Artwork by: Greg Dunn
When we are ill or in need of additional care and support, we are at our most vulnerable.
Our surroundings significantly impact both our physical and mental health.
The importance of the environment is crucial not only for inpatient care but also for day patients. Color schemes and lighting setups play a vital role concerning various diagnoses. This is an area we believe institutions should prioritize moving forward. We advocate for patient-focused healthcare facilities that integrate the human dimension into their planning processes.
